CNC-machined lightweight chassis made from 5mm premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum has been redesigned to achieve better steering characteristics. The front of the chassis was widened to make the car less twitchy and easier to drive, and the chassis now has grooves for the engine mount screws which allows the engine to be moved forwards or backwards to accommodate either standard or small 2-speed gears. The new front middle shaft holder is positioned differently on the chassis, and there are two holes for the servo saver which allows for quick Ackermann changes. More placement holes for additional weights were added to the right side of the chassis.
The lightweight chassis is strategically machined in low-stress areas to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity. All screw holes on the bottom of the chassis are countersunk, allowing for a very smooth chassis underside with no protruding screw heads. The outer edges of the chassis have been beveled and screw holes have been countersunk in order to provide a smooth lower surface. Provisions have been made to accommodate graphite reinforcing inserts or additional balancing weights, front and rear to tune chassis stiffness, balance, and CG.
Due the nature of the aluminum material and the machining process, it is normal that the chassis may be slightly bent in the longitudinal direction.
