About the Henschel Hs-123A-1
Developed in 1935, the Henschel Hs-123A-1 served as a ground-attack fighter in the Spanish Civil War and WWII. Powered by an 880hp air-cooled BMW132 engine, the open-topped Henschel was considered obsolete by the start of WWII. However, its low-speed stable flying made it perfect as a ground attack fighter during the German Blitzkrieg offensive. From 1941 it also served on the Eastern front, where it gained pilots&39; trust due to its durability and high operating rate. The last Henschel&39;s disappeared from the field in Summer of 1944.
