Focused on victory in touring car racing, the Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF) experimentally released last summer Tamiya&39;s first pure racing chassis, the prototype TRF414X (limited to the U.S. as a test project). It featured a mid-ship motor, belt drive 4WD, carbon graphite double-deck chassis, double wishbone suspension, and a variety of other race-oriented elements. Since the TRF414X was unlike any other previous Tamiya chassis, various subtle modifications to the chassis geometry had to be made. The TRF414X was tested and re-tested at every stage of development, ultimately resulting in impressive race results in both Japan and the United States. Taking advantage of performance data and observation of these races, TRF further honed this already superb chassis. Now, Tamiya is proud to present its finest pure racing chassis to date, the TRF414. Just some of the main improvements over the TRF414X include: modified suspension geometry for lower center of gravity; resin suspension arms, uprights, and knuckle arms for weight savings (formerly aluminum); resin parts made of more durable material; front and center double one-way drive for more efficient cornering; newly designed anodized setting wheel; TRF logo and serial number plate for limited release certification; kit also includes 1g of state-of-the-art anti-wear grease. The TRF414 chassis kit promises a bright new millennium of touring car victories for Tamiya and the TRF.

After several months of experimentation on the TRF414 chassis kit and a considerable amount of race participation, the TRF designers are proud to bring out an improved version of the chassis, the TRF414M chassis kit. The improvements focused mainly on heightening the efficiency of the drive train and increasing the cornering speed. The TRF414M Chassis Kit is sure to give competitive RC racers just what they need to win on today&39;s track.

Specifications:

• Wheelbase: 260mm (variable), overall width: 189mm (varies according to wheels used), chassis weight: 780g.
• Suspension geometry optimized based on race feedback of TRF414 chassis. Using suspension arm spacer, wheels can be adjusted within 5mm range for precise settings.
• Aluminum bulkheads are positioned low for an overall low center of gravity. Motor plate also aids in heat dispersion.
• Front and center pulleys adopt one-way drive train. Rear adopts ball diff. type part-time 4WD system.
• Newly designed suspension mount and carbon shock tower lowers roll center for smooth and stable cornering.
• 4 degree caster angle on front hub carrier sharpens steering response. Torque-rods reliably maintain angle.
• Toe-in angle from 2-2.5 degrees may be chosen by adjusting rear suspension block and rear upright.
• Front one-way and rear ball diff. are compatible with TA04.
• SOREX medium narrow tires and specially designed dish wheels are included.
• TRF Suspension Dampers (x4) included.
• Three kinds of front and rear stabilizers included.
• 112T, 120T, and 128T 04 module gears included. Pinion gear of 40T included.

• Wheels, Tires (spare): Offset 0mm, medium narrow size
• Motor: Any 540-type motor
• Battery: Tamiya 7.2V Racing Pack or equivalent. Separate-type batteries may also be used.
• Body: Any body with wheelbase over 257mm and overall width over 190mm. Bodies of the same class as Tamiya&39;s "Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge" will fit. Some modification to body mount holes may be needed.
