About the Honda NSX Type R
The NSX was designed to rival European sports cars while also offering everyday drivability. The NSX was a showcase of Honda&39;s latest automotive technologies when it was released in 1990. Several famous racing drivers, including Ayrton Senna, provided input for the car&39;s development and it was notable for being the first production car with an all-aluminum monocoque body. In 1992, Honda produced a version which was more purely dedicated to track performance called the NSX Type R. Removal of comfort features such as air conditioning and leather seats meant a weight savings of 120kg and a re-tuned suspension and transmission resulted in a formidable track machine. The Tamiya model is a re-release of the kit that was originally released in 1992.
