Introduced in October 2001 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the production version of the new Nissan 350Z boasts sharply cut front and rear fenders, giving the body a strong yet sleek image. The face of the car is truly imposing with elongated headlights, turn signals, and a large air-intake; the rear holds its own with diamond-shaped taillights and "Z" logo visible on the inner crossbar. And since this machine was created to be a pure sports car in both design and performance, the powerplant leaves nothing to be desired. A 3.5 liter VQ-series V6 engine, which is targeted to produce over 260 horsepower comprises the guts of the new Nissan. Both 6-speed manual or 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission will be available for the 350Z, which incidentally is targeted to fly from 0-60mph in under 6 seconds. Nissan&39;s designers also gave ample consideration to optimizing the weight distribution of the car, allowing it to run like a high-performance sports car should. The interior blends sporty simplicity with functionality, featuring various circular meters laid out rows of three. Once again the Nissan 350Z promises to reaffirm its timeless popularity to a new century of sports car fans.
