• This is a 1/24 scale assembly model of the Volkswagen Golf Racing Group 2 car. It was originally released in 1978 and made a brief re-appearance in 2002. It&39;s back again for automotive model enthusiasts. History and background: The Volkswagen Golf Racing was introduced to touring car races in Europe during the 1970s. This front-engine, front-wheel drive machine was specially tuned for the Group 2 category and featured a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder 1,578cc engine capable of 173hp. Featuring a livery of Kamei, a German racing spoiler manufacturer, this machine demonstrated superb performance and attracted motorsports fans all around the world.
