Taking on the Porsche 935
Based on the Toyota Celica Lift Back 2000GT, the Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 was created to comply with the Group 5 racing category rules. A 2,090cc 560hp engine powered the lightweight machine and it defeated Porsche&39;s 935 Turbos to seize an impressive victory at Round 4 Belgium during the 1977 German DRM season. Tamiya&39;s R/C model of the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 faithfully reproduces the car&39;s long-nose, short-deck form with polycarbonate, while the rear wing, rear wing plates, and headlight parts are separately molded for enhanced realism. Included markings allow depiction of car No.68.
