The 2005 Yamaha YZR-M1 is famous because of hotshot driver, Valentino Rossi&39;s victory at the 2005 MotoGP World Championships. After major design changes, the winning YZR-M1 featured an improved shock absorbing capability, refined brake and torque control systems, an upgraded frame and a 4 stroke in-line 4 cylinder 990cc engine. Originally, the bike had a five valve head, but was changed to a four valve per cylinder head configuration to improve top speed and fuel efficiency. The famous yellow and black strobe pattern, which is also featured on Kenny Roberts YZR500, was seen on the YZR-M1 during the 2005 MotoGP season. However, in Valencia, Spain, the body was painted in a striking white and red block pattern.
