• In 1999, after taking the Constructors&39; Championship, Ferrari set their sights on bringing out a machine which could earn both the Constructors&39; and Drivers&39; Championships for 2000. The result was the new F1-2000 which inherited many of the characteristics of the 1999 car, such as the high nose, side diffusers and exhaust port. Ferrari also brought out a new V-10 engine called the 3000 Ferrari (Type 049). During the 2000 season, Michael Schumacher took 9 victories including the opening three races and earned the first Drivers Championship for a Ferrari driver since Jody Sheckter&39;s in 1979. In addition, Rubens Barrichello&39;s victory in the German GP helped the team secure the 2000 Constructors Championship as well.
