One of "Sideways" Ronnie&39;s Rides
At the 1976 F1 World Championships, the famous Tyrrell P34 six-wheeler made its debut and demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the season. In the following season, First National City Bank became the main sponsor and the car&39;s livery was changed to a blue and white two-tone scheme. The P34 also featured a full engine cowling to improve aerodynamics and was driven by P. Depailler and R. Peterson. Tyrrell encountered trouble when the development of P34&39;s unique front tires stagnated as a result of the tire war between Michelin and Goodyear, but they continued their efforts to win by making adjustments such as a return to the previous year&39;s engine cowling during the Monaco GP.
