Ace Akamatsu&39;s Personal Mount

Japanese Navy ace Sadaaki Akamatsu was known for his many combat exploits and a 1/48 scale representation of his aircraft has been added to Tamiya&39;s Masterwork Collection line-up. A thorough study of an actual aircraft means all of the A6M5a&39;s distinctive features have been accurately reproduced. This finished model features the markings of the aircraft which Akamatsu flew to intercept American naval aircraft on February 17th, 1945.
