  • The DTS system (Direct Tweak System) is a way to increase the front end grip by directly putting more wheel load on the inside front wheel, depending on steering input as well as the excentre used.
    It is well known that to increase front end grip, it is necessary to increase the wheel load on the inside front wheel. There are several ways to do that, you can change roll-stiffness (anti-roll bars and springs) or you increase caster.
    The first is fully depending on the weight distribution while cornering, while the latter is only depending on steering-lock and caster adjustment. (a few other geometric settings as well).
    While caster has a direct influence on wheel load, it has the disadvantage of losing tire contact patch.
    The DTS system only depends on steering-lock and which excentre is used. By changing the excentre the amount of extra wheel load and therefore grip is adjustable. The excentre is also very easy to change. It is therefore possible to use the best caster for the perfect tire contact patch and then adjust the grip with the excentre.
    For the well functioning of the system it is very important to adjust is with as little play as possible while still having a free side-to-side movement.
