• The Castrol Honda Civic, entered in class D of 993 British BR DC/BR SCC Saloon Car Championship, achieved notable success during the season, although it competed against more powerful cars. Despite its smaller engine size, the VTEC engine technology and light weight of the civixc make it very competitive, with driving technic of late braking and rush acceleration to pass though the corner.
• 19 year old James Thompson emerged as a new star having scored seven wins, two seconds, three thirds and one sixth place in his civic, in addition of securing nine pole positions during the 14 races of the 1993 season. Thompson won the class and the championship , and was rewarded with a drive in the Civic Challenge Cup race for civic N1cars at the Suzuka circuit during the Japanses Grand Prix, where hde finished a creditable 9th on his debut visit.
